When I see something with a high-enough resolution to completely negate the screen-door effect, coupled with a 220-Degree field of view and a better option for VR conrols AND room-scale / wireless, THEN I'll be willing to drop some coin. I feel like dropping $200 on a Windows MR headset is the best option because a couple of years from now, we'll be seeing headsets and controllers coming out that fix all of the stuff that's driving us nuts about all of the current offers.

$200 if you are in the US! A steal! If you still want to change once the Pro is there.you can still sell it.Īs much as I really want the latest and greatest, even the most expensive VR headsets out have tons of room for improvement. Other WinMR headset: No need to wait, since they are SO cheap anyways now. The resolution is the same, probably even uses exactly the same panel. Odyssey: No need to wait, unless you want the better tracking. Especially since the Pro is gonna be expensive. You had already decided against the better tracking of the Vive and you had already decided against the better resolution of the Odyssey. Oculus Rift: Don't wait, get the Oculus Rift now. Same resolution and you can sell it off for a good price once the Vive is there. Alternative: Get an Odyssey until the Pro comes out. If you buy a Vive now and then sell it, you will not get a great price because too many people will sell it at the same time.

The Vive is incredible, just the only thing that holds it back right now is the resolution. HTC VIVE: If you wanted to buy the original HTC Vive, probably wait for the Vive Pro. If you don't want to read but just watch the video, you can do so here: Here is my conclusion, depending on the VR headset you were about to buy. In my latest video I discuss the question if you should wait for the Vive Pro if you are in the market for a VR headset NOW.
